Why Relationships Still Matter in Business
One of the reasons you will often find me at networking events, business breakfasts, community gatherings and local functions is because I genuinely believe relationships still matter in business.
Especially in regional communities.
People like doing business with people they know, recognise and feel comfortable with. While websites, social media and AI are all valuable tools, there is still something incredibly important about real conversations and genuine connection.
Many businesses are discovered through:
word of mouth
recommendations
community involvement
networking
social media visibility
and simply showing up consistently over time
Behind every business is a real person trying to build something meaningful. There are families behind businesses, stories behind brands and experiences behind the services being offered.
That human side matters.
I think people are craving more genuine communication online too. Not polished perfection or complicated jargon — just businesses communicating clearly and showing up consistently.
Relationships build trust.
Trust builds familiarity.
And familiarity often leads to connection.
That is why community still matters so much in business.
