VW Kombi and Volkswagen community gathering at Dubs on the Hill in Crows Nest, with cars, camping, and connection despite rainy weather and strong regional spirit.

Dubs On The Hill – A Weekend Of Community, Kombis And Connection

April 02, 20261 min read

Anyone who knows me knows I love my Kombi and the whole VW community that comes with it. So when Dubs on the Hill rolls around each year, it’s always something special.

This year was no exception.

Despite the rain trying its best to keep the locals at home, people travelled from far and wide to be part of the weekend at Crows Nest. That in itself says a lot about the strength of this community. When people are willing to travel long distances just to spend time together around a shared passion, you know something special is happening.

Dubs on the Hill isn’t just about the cars.

Yes, the Kombis and VWs are beautiful to see lined up across the park. But what really makes the weekend memorable is the people. Families reconnecting. New friendships forming. Stories being shared. Laughter echoing across the campground.

Events like this remind me why community matters so much, especially in regional areas.

People support each other. They show up. They make the effort.

And even when the weather doesn’t cooperate, the spirit of the event still shines through.

Weekends like this remind me how important it is to step away from the desk occasionally, get out into the community, and enjoy the people and passions that make life richer.

Clarity beats chaos.
