People, Places & Stories: A Cup Of Tea With Wisdom – Bronwyn Evans
Every now and then, you sit down with someone for a simple cup of tea…
and walk away feeling completely refreshed in your thinking.
That’s exactly what happened when I caught up with Bronwyn Evans recently.
Bronwyn, alongside her husband Lachlan, built McAdam & Turnbull into a highly respected real estate business before selling it last year. It’s the kind of business that doesn’t just happen — it’s built on trust, relationships, and years of doing things properly.
And Bronwyn hasn’t stepped away.
She continues to contribute not only locally, but across the state through her involvement with the REIQ, sharing her knowledge, experience, and perspective with the broader industry.
What struck me most wasn’t just her business acumen (which is considerable),
but the way she thinks.
Thoughtful.
Measured.
Wise with her words…
(Unlike me, who sometimes says exactly what I think and gets myself into a bit of trouble.)
Bronwyn is not an attention seeker. She’s a doer.
But not just a doer — a doer with wisdom.
She takes the time to seek first to understand. Her perspective comes from years of experience and knowledge, but also from a genuine commitment to keep learning, growing, and improving.
She’s not driven by quick wins or the hard sell.
She’s driven by people.
By doing what’s right for the person in front of her.
By making considered decisions.
By thinking things through.
And that’s rare.
She has this quiet way of challenging your thinking — without ego, without noise — just clarity that makes you pause and reflect.
She’ll call BS… politely.
She’s shown up for her community consistently over many years, not for recognition, but because she genuinely cares.
And it got me thinking…
People like Bronwyn are exactly what strong communities are built on.
Thoughtful. Grounded. Principled.
The kind of person who leads not by noise, but by example.
And while she may not be seeking anything beyond what she’s already doing…
I can’t help but think she would bring something pretty special to a leadership role if she ever chose to step into one.
But that’s just my two bob’s worth.
